Chief Executive Officer

   

The CEO for Smart is responsible for ensuring the organisation's purpose and vision through the development of strategy and planning to secure the organisation's continuing success and it's sustainable future. Working in partnership with the Schools, Board of Trustees, and the Director of Business & Finance, the CEO sets the ethics and standards by which Smart Multi-Academy Trust will work ensuring overall financial integrity and maximising the value and quality of education provided by Smart.
 

The CEO also has the lead role in school improvement and performance and will support and provide significant guidance and advice to all schools and Local Governing Boards within the multi-academy trust.

 

Director of Business and Finance

 

The Director of Business and Finance (DBF) for Smart will work together with the CEO in contributing to the effective leadership of the trust, maintaining focus on it's purpose and vision through rigorous analysis and challenge. They will contribute to the effective management of Smart by developing integrated business plans to ensure effective risk management, value for money, and creative use of resources. The DBF will work to uphold and champion the trust’s ethical principles and standards by creating effective partnerships with the schools, trustees, and external partners, to ensure the organisation has a secure financial future, combining sustainability and growth.

 

The DBF reports to, supports, and advises the CEO, and is responsible for providing the Board of Trustees, in particular the Finance & Audit Committee, and external auditors with financial budgeting, analysis, and reporting in line with the DfE’s Academies Financial Handbook.

 

Director of Better Together

 

At Smart we take pride in the education that we provide to our pupils. and we take pride in the calibre of our team.  The Director of Better Together (DBT) works across Smart to ensure that the skills of our staff benefit the whole Trust through effective trust-wide collaboration. That is why we talk about getting better together, drawing upon the expertise of the whole Smart team to deliver the best outcomes for our pupils. The DBT will work with the CEO and the Heads of our schools to develop the opportunities for learning, particularly focussing on the core subjects of English (reading, writing and oracy) and mathematics.
