Wyndham Primary School

Wyndham is a foundation primary school for boys and girls aged 2-11 years with a nursery and playgroup attached. The school has existed in its present form since 1954 and is located in Wyndsail Place which is surrounded by a wide range of residential areas and developments. The school promotes a culture of high expectations, celebration of achievements and excellent pupil behaviour. There is a real sense of cohesion and pride in the school which is shared by pupils, parents, staff and governors. The school has a caring environment where pupils and staff are happy, secure and enthusiastic about learning. The children have the opportunity to take part in various visits and trips, relating to a wide variety of cultural and sporting experiences. ICT facilities are excellent with an ICT suite and the provision of numerous iPads and laptops.

There is also a recently refurbished, well stocked library and a sports hall which is used to support a wide and varied PE curriculum. The school stands in extensive, attractive grounds which are used as a focus for outdoor learning and play. The school holds the Eco Schools Green Flag Award and throughout the year pupils learn all about energy and the need for more sustainable energy sources in the future such as renewable energy. The school also has a number of additional awards including Gold Arts Mark, Gold Investors in People, Investors in People Champion Status, and Healthy School’s status.

Our statement of intent is that: at Wyndham we continually seek to provide high quality education adapting to new challenges as they arise so that all children find pleasure and satisfaction in learning and that they experience many successes and gain maximum benefit from their time at the school. We do this by creating and maintaining a very positive ethos, which is characterised by excellent relationships within school, and between the school and each child’s home.
