North Fawdon Primary School

North Fawdon Primary School is a foundation primary school for boys and girls aged 3-11 years. It is located at Brotherlee Road in the ward of  Fawdon, north of Newcastle upon Tyne. The school has an additionally resourced centre (ARC) housed on site, which caters for a maximum of 6 pupils who have complex needs, relating to behavioural, communication, and/or social difficulties. All the ARC children integrate with the mainstream children according to their personal needs and capabilities. Located in the grounds of the school is a Sure Start Centre with a fully enclosed area for outdoor play.

The school operates a free, daily breakfast club as well as a range of lunch time and after school clubs.

Year 5 pupils are able to attend educational visits throughout the summer holidays prior to entering Year 6, to keep their learning alive and their attainment on track during the summer break.

Throughout the year we ensure there are additional opportunities for children whose talents lie in more practical skills, to gain qualifications in joinery, brick work, tiling, wood work, and environmental studies. The school is currently renewing its status for Healthy Schools and recently gained Quality Mark in Basic Skills.

At North Fawdon we are proud to have families from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures but we share a core set of values which include perseverance, commitment, responsibility, respect, resilience, honesty and kindness which we believe everyone needs to live a happy, safe and successful life. High expectations of behaviour are the key to successful learning.

We  work closely with our families and community partners to ensure that each child reaches their full potential. We endeavour to do this in a caring, nurturing environment where everyone supports each other to do their very best. We all love our end of topic, wholeschool performances where all our children perform on stage class by class and share their learning.

Our school motto is 'Learn Together – aim high and succeed'.
