Kenton Bar Primary School

Kenton Bar Primary School is a 1½ form entry foundation primary school for boys and girls aged 3-11 years. It is located on Kenton Bar housing estate, a mixed catchment area in North Central Newcastle The school includes a specially resourced provision for pupils with special educational needs. This consists of a full-time, six place Communication Centre for pupils with autism spectrum disorder and Asperger's Syndrome in Key Stages 1 and 2. The school has an attached nursery.

 There is a free breakfast club each day. A reading club takes place before school and there is a parent and volunteer team who read with children throughout the whole school. Extracurricular opportunities include a wide range of sporting activities and a range of clubs and Year 6 children are taken on a residential weekend each year during the summer term. The school also has its own chickens. A number of awards have been achieved, including Healthy Schools status, Activemark, International School Award and Eco School Award.

We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is crucial in ensuring that we maintain high standards of behaviour and safety for our children. Our pupils feel very safe in school.
