Farne Primary School

Situated in the heart of the Newbiggin Hall estate, Farne Primary School, a one-form entry foundation school, provides high-quality education for children aged 3-11. Set within extensive grounds, we offer a good early years provision with a range of outdoor learning opportunities.
Children are at the heart of everything we do at Farne where there is a relentless focus on academic outcomes and the development of the whole child, ensuring secondary readiness.
The school has good sports facilities and there are regular tournaments and competitions. There is a wide variety of after schools clubs ranging from hockey and football to gardening and singing. There are also regular school trips that enhance the broad and balanced curriculum. We have achieved a number of awards:
  • International School Status – celebrating links in Gambia and Spain
  • Green Flag Status – thanks to a strong Eco Team
  • Basic Skills Quality Mark
  • LPPA Award
  • SEND Award (June 2018)
At Farne Primary you will find a warm, welcoming and happy environment. Our parents are overwhelmingly positive and supportive about their children's education. Many of our teaching staff have been here a number of years and this continuity has enabled us to forge well established links with the community.
Our school motto encapsulates our vision at Farne: ‘Bring Out Your Brilliance’. This ties in with our 8 core values which encourage our pupils to become confident individuals, successful learners and responsible citizens. In return our children feel safe and highly valued within our small, caring school community. We believe that we can create a truly outstanding school built on secure foundations of excellent teaching, a daring, memorable, creative curriculum and consistently high academic attainment and progress for all learners.
